Jazz Funk Dance is an awesome fusion of styles. Jazz Funk Dance has its roots in Jazz Dance but take the genre further into a blend of hip hop, breakdancing, popping and locking, along with other fashionable dance genres. Some of the most exciting Pop and R'n'B artists in the world such as Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande and Beyonce use this form of dance in their concerts and video clips. This genre of dance is also considered to be "commercial" dance style. Emma will be teaching this class and bringing some sass to the dance floor! The following elements will be covered in the class: Introduction to Jazz Funk Dance – what is Jazz Funk dancing? Physical awareness – how to use your body to tell a story. Technique – learn basic Jazz Funk Dance technique, Hip Hop, locking and popping. Ensemble – how to work together in a group. Character development – how to create a sassy character through dance. Focus and concentration – how to focus and concentrate onstage. Dance exercises – fun activities to sharpen your dance skills. Confidence – learn how to be a confident dancer in front of an audience.
